Texture Design Co. is a Charleston, SC–based design studio founded by Emily Kirby. Our mission is to create products that help you live joyfully and love others. We’re committed to delivering high-quality designs while building strong, lasting relationships with our customers.

The name Texture is rooted in the elements of design. Whether it’s a greeting card, a piece of furniture, or a vintage photograph, the things we cherish often carry a texture—something that evokes emotion or stirs a memory. At Texture Design Co., our hope is that our designs do the same.

I've always had a creative spirit, and I credit that to my grandmothers! From a young age, I vividly remember painting with one and learning to sew purses with the other. Those sweet moments sparked a love for making beautiful things, which eventually led me to pursue a degree in interior design at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!).

After graduation, I landed a job on King Street in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. I quickly fell in love—not just with the city, but with the textures, patterns, and colors that surrounded my work every day.

A few years later, I felt inspired to explore a new creative path and began studying graphic design. That decision opened up a whole new world of possibilities! I was fascinated by how the principles of interior design—balance, proportion, color theory, and symmetry—translated so seamlessly into graphic design. The foundation was the same; I had just found a new canvas.

After completing my graphic design degree, I took a big leap and opened my own shop: Texture Design Co.

Watching Texture grow has been such an exciting journey for my husband and me, and we can’t wait to see what’s next! Through it all, our goal is to glorify God in our work—serving our customers wholeheartedly and stewarding the talents, relationships, and resources He’s given us.
